Full Metal Jacket Wednesday 24th

Now you have seen the whole film, ask yourself these questions (you can comment after):


  • The film is in two halves. What is the story of the first half and what is the story of the second?
  • What are the themes of the story?
  • Can you comment on the use of colour?
  • And the use of sound/music?
  • Who is the main character in the story?
  • What do we learn about him?
  • What scenes/events can you recall and why?
  • What attitudes to war are represented in the story and whose are they?
  • Comment on the characters' attitude to race, sex and death. Why do you think this is so?
  • What do you think Kubrick intended you to feel throughout this story?

    The 2 halfs of the film where one about the training and the second one was about being in the war.
    The themes were how the diffrent men treat the hole war thing.
