Four Lions - interview with Chris Morris

Have a read of this short interview with Chris Morris (director).

Now you've seen the film, think about representation. How does the film introduce us to the characters? Are they believable? What are the themes of the story? How are these themes presented to us and from whose viewpoint/s?

Read the Four Lions articles on the Guardian website.

How would you describe this film in terms of genre/s?

  1. The film introduced us to the characters quite dramatically, it did give us the basics like names and everything. But reading the interview with Chris Morris, it seemed that the main characters individually weren't important to the fim. However they were believable in terms of what they each wanted to do. And that two of them seemed to be leaders where as some of the others were followers but yet they still had there own thoughts.

Chris Morris wanted to highlight terrorism and kind of give it a funny twist so concentrating on the four of them together and what they were up to was the main idea of the film.

The theme is terrorism. Like Chris Morris said, people dont know much about it despite it influencing the world . He wanted to entertain people and surprise them. The theme is presented to us by the four main characters. And it seems to all be in Omar's point of view even though we get a glimpse of some of the others view points through out the film

I would describe the film to be comedy and it could even be a thriller because of the crime it involves.
